PHILRACOM Kapamilya “2nd Wave Outreach Medical Mission” , Unfolds in SCLP Naic, Cavite

6In line with the implementation of the "PHILRACOM Road Map for 4Q 2011 and Beyond", the Commission, in coordination with the PCSO and PRCI, conducted the "PHILRACOM Kapamilya 2nd Wave Outreach Medical Mission" last February 3, 2012 at the SCLP Grandstand Lobby in Naic , Cavite.

The Medical Mission Team was comprised of two (2) PHILRACOM In-house Medical Officers, four (4) volunteer doctors, and five (5) volunteer nurses. The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), supported the project by providing additional medicines and manpower by the participation of (3) doctors and (3) nurses dedicated to serve the hapless sector of our racing industry. Likewise, the NPJAI and PRHTAI provided the other necessary logistics to consummate the program.

The project was participated by 329 beneficiaries consisting of licensed grooms, farriers, and stable helpers including their immediate families (priority of which are the Senior Citizens, the differently-abled, housewives, and children), inhabiting within the premises of the SCLP.

Aside from the usual Medical Mission routines such as sickness diagnosis and giving out free medicines, the "2nd Wave Medical Mission" was innovated with some features namely, the "Grooming the Grooms" wherein 71 beneficiaries were given free haircut and the Feeding Program, featuring the specially cooked "Lugaw & Sopas" provided by the PRCI for the beneficiaries.
