The annual staging of the PHILRACOM "Chairman's Cup" was a race that the entire horse racing industry awaits with excitement and speculation. It will be pitted by promising three (3) year old horses mostly protagonists from the concluded legs of the 2014 Triple Crown Series. This prestigious event honors the past leaders of the government agency that regulates and supervises the sport of horse racing.
Philippine Racing Commission bagged for the third time and now under Chairman Angel L. Castaño, Jr., one of the 2014 Outstanding Accounting Offices by the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines, (AGAP), Inc. The Philracom Finance Division, headed by Ms. Susana S. Franco and the rest of the team; Mr. Marcelino C. Torres, Mr. Enrico J. Bellen, Mr. Edgardo F. Buenafe, Ms. Maria Corazon C. Quintana, and Ms Riza B. Sabillo, as front liner gets the full credit of the merit of this conferment.
The "Bayang Karerista" in the Philippines is witnessing "Blockbuster Sales Era" these past few weeks of 2014. The P179.4M weekly total sales of April 21-27 was the best in the past 24 months from January 2012 to December 2013 with the exclusion of third week December 2013 with P180.3M due to the support of popularly awaited and supported year end stakes races in that week of 2013.
Collectively, the average weekly sales of the past five months or from December 2013 to April 2014 is at P158.4M as against P144.8M on 2012 and P149.5M in 2013.
PHILRACOM takes action on the erroneous entry of the horse "Sweet Mind" in the Dividendazo racing program for the race date August 31, 2014 held at the Metro Manila Turf Club, Malvar Batangas.

As the PHILIPPINE RACING COMMISSION celebrates its 40th Milestone Year of unwavering service and commitment to its horseracing industry partners and stakeholders, comes significant accomplishments to mark this Ruby Anniversary.
The kickoff to PHILRACOM's celebration to praise its invaluable achievement was a letter of citation dated March 7, 2014 from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) -Region 8 Revenue District Office. The PHILRACOM was appreciatively commended for consistently being one of the top taxpayers within the Revenue District No. 8; for its continued support to the government tax reform programs; and to the promotion of national prosperity.
