CHAPTER 20
RACE FIELDS – ELIGIBILITY TO RACE
PR 116. NATIVE
HORSES – Unless authorized otherwise by the PHILRACOM,
only native horses (horses born or foaled in the Philippines) can participate
in races held or conducted in this country.
PR 117. ELIGIBILITY OF ENTRIES – Horses, in
order to be eligible as entries:
a.
Although we are on
the Northern Hemisphere breeding season, horses to be eligible to run must be
two (2) years old based on actual date of foaling;
b.
Must be registered
with the PHILRACOM and National Stud Farm;
c. Must be free from any
contagious disease or illness;
d.
Must not be suffering
from moonblindedness, or blind in both eyes; and
e. Must not be under the
influence of drug/s. (March 22, 2002)
PR 118. GELDED
HORSES – Gelded horses
will not be allowed to participate in races except those who are already
runners.
Amendments: (March 1, 2005)
PR 119. IMPORTED
HORSES – Imported
horses may be allowed by PHILRACOM to participate in races held in the
Philippines on the following conditions:
a. Only imported horses
that will be raced shall not be more than four (4) years old from the actual
date of foaling when they arrive in the Philippines;
b. Must satisfy the
conditions stated in the above SECTION 21.0 b,c,d, & e;
c. Shall be allowed to
run for a purse and upon reaching the age of seven (7) will be retired for
breeding
