PHILIPPINE JOCKEYS’ ACADEMY

167. THE
PHILIPPINE JOCKEYS ACADEMY
– The Philippine Jockeys Academy (PJA)
shall be under the direct supervision and control of the PHILRACOM.

168. PJA
DIRECTOR – The
PHILRACOM shall appoint a PJA Director who shall be the head of the
Academy. He shall have overall
supervision and control over all aspects related to the training and
education of student jockeys. He
shall perform such other duties and exercise such other functions as the
PHILRACOM may direct to be performed.

169. OTHER
PJA OFFICERS –
The PHILRACOM shall appoint such other officials and employees, as it may
deem necessary to assist the PJA Director in the performance of his duties
and functions. They shall report
directly to the PJA Director and shall perform such other duties and
functions as maybe assigned to them from time to time by the latter with the
prior notice and consent of the PHILRACOM.

170. COMPENSATION
– The compensation of the PJA Director and other PJA officials
and employees shall be for the account of the PHILRACOM.

171. SCREENING
COMMITTEE – A
screening committee shall be created to take charge in the acceptance and screening
of candidates or applicants for the PJA.
This Committee shall be composed of one duly designated representative
each from the MARHO, PHILTOBO, NPJAI, PRHTAI, PRCI, and MJCI who shall
recommend candidates for the approval of the PHILRACOM.

172. QUALIFICATIONS
FOR STUDENT JOCKEYS –
The applicants for student jockeys must meet the qualifications set forth by
the screening committee as approved by the PHILRACOM. They must be registered as such before
enrollment.

173. CURRICULUM
AND TUITION FEES – The two (2) year curriculum and the
corresponding tuition fees shall be set by the PJA to be approved by the
PHILRACOM. The PJA shall formulate a student handbook which shall set forth
the objectives of the academy and a code of conduct for students.

174. GRADUATION – Upon graduation, a student
jockey will be licensed by the PHILRACOM as an apprentice jockeys and shall
forthwith be covered by the Horse Racing Rules and Regulations.
PR 175. APPRENTICESHIP – All apprentice jockeys shall report to the PJA everyday
during their apprenticeship for monitoring of their respective performances.
No tuition fees shall be collected from them. The PJA shall make a monthly
report to the PHILRACOM on the performance of the apprentice jockeys until
they are licensed as journeyman jockeys.
