Sir,

Are there jockeys who were suspended by the board of stewards and was allowed to work overseas? Why are they allowed to leave the country to work abroad where in fact they should serve their suspension HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES?

Can you just imagine that while working they are also serving their suspension outside of our country. It is such a crazy thing. I can not think of any other word, Sir with due respect.

It is such a crazy decision allowing jockeys who are suspended by the board of stewards to work for abroad. Their employer or their agent should ask or secure for a clearance to your office FIRST before processing their visas. Take note please that a visit visa or tourist visa can be coverted into working visa later on.

My suggestion to your office Sir, is for you to inform Department of Foreign Affairs and other government agencies like POEA or OWWA not to process their documentation WITHOUT any clearance at all.

I am not being inhuman but please the betting public deserves equal importance and justice to their hard earned moneys. Or else it will be detrimental to the horse racing industry.

Please, think of integrity, credibility and confidence if we wanted this industry to grow. Protect the betting public.

this erring riders should not be allowed to work overseas & secure clearances to the new philippine jockeys academy (npja) and philippine racing commission (philracom). if they will be allowed to work abroad it is tantamount to their innocence from the illegal acts committed and will be free from their sins against the betting public & the horse connections involved.

im also human but they should suffer the penalty for their misdeeds and serve their suspension. also if possible add the unserve suspension/s.
because of the constant favoring/s being done lots of recidivist jockeys continue to do their illegal acts. in other racing countries if proven guilty as charged, the individuals involved will be held criminally with jail terms thats why illegal activities at the races are happening very seldom.

only in the philippines star jockeys are being given special attentions and perks. one of these days im waiting to see one of the recidivist i should say to get penalized for his misdeeds. i hope it will be soon!

with former philracom commissioner roger tandiama at the drivers seat of the board of stewards nothing is impossible. he is out to cleanse the entire industry of all the misfits. mabuhay po kayo tito roger!

When a license is granted to a jockey (apprentice/journeyman), he is bound in all respects and at all times should abide by the rules of racing authorities. If he is found guilty of breaching the rule, he is being penalized and SHALL SERVE HIS SUSPENSION (to the fullest) here in our country AND NOT OUTSIDE OF OUR COUNTRY.

Suppose the suspended jockey left our country to work abroad. And at the same time spend his entire period of suspension while working abroad and upon his return (here in the Philippines) decided to ride again,

Sir, May I ask please if you are going to give him a clearance (to ride again) WITHOUT SERVING OUT HIS ENTIRE SUSPENSION here in the Philippines? I'm sorry for my question, Sir.

In addition, the expatriate jockey should secure the necessary clearance from the country where he has been riding. He should present to the Commission that there is NO UNEXPIRED PORTION OF HIS VISA to protect the betting public. Baka po kasi maglakas loob na garapalin o kahonin ang sakay at muling umalis ng ating bansa na hindi niyo man lamang nalalaman.

If the racing officials would like to earn their trust and respect, they should not only remain loyal to their oath of office but must protect the interest of the betting public.

Sir, please do not misinterpret, I am not being inhuman. What is important is that the interest of the betting public is protected or else our horse racing industry may not be able to get rid of undesirable jockeys.

We (including the New Philippine Jockeys Academy) should know how to differentiate between the interest of the betting public and the future of the jockey.

Pasensya na kung nabanggit ko ito. Kanino po ba namin dapat isangguni ang aming SRO, suhestyon, reaksyon, opinyon o katanungan tungkol sa industrya (karera) na kung saan malaki ang pakinabang ng ating pamahalaan. 7 bilyon ang naibigay na suporta sa industrya at ang napunta sa ating pamahaan (2009) ay 1 bilyon. What I'm saying is straight forward, if the jockey has been found guilty and was penalized by the board of stewards, he should serve his suspension to the FULLEST HERE IN THE PHILIPPINES and not abroad.

If the jockey was allowed to work abroad (without the knowledge and clearance from the racing officials) and if the jockey decided to ride again in the Philippines, he should serve his suspension to the FULLEST (first) before he can be allowed to ride again.

Racing officials should know how to differentiate between interest of the betting public and future of the jockeys.
